Pray for safety during Hurricane Ike

With those of us on the Gulf Coast of Texas preparing for Hurricane Ike, I find these words of Paul comforting. I ask for God to keep all people safe during the storm and its effects.

Romans 14:6-8

14:6 Those who observe the day, observe it in honor of the Lord. Also those who eat, eat in honor of the Lord, since they give thanks to God; while those who abstain, abstain in honor of the Lord and give thanks to God.

14:7 We do not live to ourselves, and we do not die to ourselves.

14:8 If we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord; so then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's.

Yes.
My prayers have been focused on the safety and well-being of millions of people, but especially on people I know and love as Ike bears down on the coast.

Fortunately, the folks I know have the presence of mind to leave and head inland...

Peace-
Deb
