Saturday's prayer by Thomas Kempis

Give us steadfast hearts
by Thomas A Kempis

Give us, O Lord, steadfast hearts that cannot be dragged down by false loves; give us courageous hearts that cannot be worn down by trouble; give us righteous hearts that cannot be sidetracked by unholy or unworthy goals. Give to us also, our Lord and God, understanding to know you, diligence to look for you, wisdom to recognize you, and a faithfulness that will bring us to see you face to face.

Please pray for a friend who just completed writing her master's comprehensive exams, and is facing her orals on Thursday. She is still recovering from a pretty serious illness, and they can ask her anything about all fifteen written questions....

Thanks!

Prayers for the friend, Mother Laura!

I'm trying to deal with what I think (hope?) is simply menopausal mood swings, and not depression. I'm waiting for the results of the blood tests from last week, and if needed, I will (reluctantly) go on HRT for a while. If it is not hormone-related...well, then I have ot face a whole other set of issues. But I cannot continue to live this way, I am not functional. Tears over nothing, sudden lack of motivation in spite of lots of interesting work and a desire to so the projects some to fruition... So I would ask for prayers as I work through this.

Also, Matt is finally going in for some procedures on Tuesday and Wednesday. Prayers for him as he undergoes a sigmoidoscopy and endoscopy...I wince just typing the words.

Many thanks, brothers and sisters!

Laura, May your friend's confidence in her work carry her through the oral exams.

RP, may a solution for your mood swings be found easily that you might start dealing with them. And may Matt's procedures go well.

Blessings on all in need of prayer this day.

Thank you, RP and RM.

And many prayers for you, Rainbow, as you wait and discern, and for your friend Matt as he faces more medical challenges.

OK, my prayers are with you all.

I also give thanks for the unique ways in which God is providing for our needs. A bag of fruit here, an unforseen gift there...God's provisions are so appreciated.
