Amazing Grace

May we all see Grace in our worlds today -- Grace that astounds and amazes.

May God's Grace sustain us and revive us.

May God's Grace give us serenity and peace.

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
and mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

When we've been there ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we've first begun.

traditional hymn - john newton - circa 1760

Please hold Claire in your prayers. She is the young woman I mentioned in the revgals blog on Tuesday. She, is new to the church having not been a church goer in her childhood, she will be baptized on Sunday. But now, she has also found out that she breast cancer. It is genetic, has taken the lives of her mother and several other women in her family (both sides). She will probably have a double mastectomy and a total hysterectomy in about three weeks. It is fast growing and pervasive. It has only been a year since her last mamogram...she is 28. Thank you.

Would you please pray for me...very stressed out here today and I am NOT going to have an anxiety attack but it feels like it right now!

Mary Beth, praying for you. And for Claire, too, mompriest.

A while back I asked for prayers for a job interview, and wanted to thank you for them - I have been called to a new church in Portland OR. This is a big, exciting change for me (working full time as sr pastor instead of part time as associate) and for my family, so please keep us in prayer as we look for a house and prepare for this transition! Thanks so much ya'll.

Praying for Claire and Mary Beth and celebrating with Juniper.

My niece received her diagnosis - an agressive form of breast cancer. She has to decide between lumpectomy, mastectomy or double mastectomy. Dr doesn't want to wait for the results of genetic markers as it is progressing so quickly. Surgery probable within the next week or so, followed by chemo and radiation.
Her mother is a breast cancer survivor, and is with her. May our prayers also be with her.

Mary Beth, hope today is more peaceful for you.
