For the ordinary

When we consider your world, O God,
we always seem to be aware of the bizarre,
the out-of-kilter, the extraordinary.
Only occasionally do we marvel
at day following night,
at the repeating cycles of birth, growth, decay and death,
at the consistency of the phases of the moon.
Give us the grace to wonder at the ordinary.

Prayer of thanks!

I don't have such a good relationship with my mum (we didn't speak for 7 years) but praise God this visit to England to see her and help her was blessing upon blessing

Thank you God!

Thank you RevGals for holding me in prayer.

Now I'm snowed under with work and very strict deadlines. The worst will be over by Monday (when a new proof reading starts) but please pray I can hold it together until then. Thanks

Praying for you, Lorna!
I've been thinking about how I used to hope for love in my life, and how my focus was on the excitement and the romance, but right now after 12 weeks of absence, I am grateful that in a few days my husband will be home doing ordinary things right alongside me.
Thank you, God, for the gifts implicit in the everyday.
