Called to Proclaim the Good News

Isaiah 61:1-9

Loving, saving, liberating God: Your good news is very good news indeed -- freedom for the captive; healing for the sick of body and soul; the inbreaking of your shalom; the proclamation that you, God With Us, stand in solidarity with your creation. We thank you for the privilege of being called to share this good news with all around us. Remind us, as we seek to serve you, that we are your hands and feet and voice in any situation where we find ourselves, and hearten us with the joy and comfort of your presence. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, the one who goes before us and shows us the way. Amen.

Oh, this image strikes in a ripe place. Thanks be to God for different ways of praying and of feeling and hearing the Good News!

Freedom is a moving, living, upward flow from darker places in our lives. The words and picture call up images of prayers taking off to greet and heal wherever they're needed.

Our congregation is taking off and is a bit shaky yet. Thinking to Call a minister is the way to solve conflict. You know, let the spiritual leader take it all on themselves.

We're starting, hopefully, a plan of further transition workings, and next week some crucial things will be decided.

Please pray for us as we prepare for that ...it can only lead to good things.

Some folks are needing to understand more fully, it is God who is in charge..God is the "CEO", though, I doubt God would wish to be labelled so. It is so limiting.

I'll pray too, for all those in transition. Change is a constant reminder that God renews, blesses us forward.

I realized the other day... 'you can't hold on to something, unless you plan to cultivate it'.

Thank you for this!

FFS, you and your congregation are lifted up...

And I lift up a priest friend who is struggling with her calling too...
