Help me find the holy...

Help me find the holy
In this Holy Week.
Services are planned,
Bulletins ready,
Bowl and oils and towels set aside,
The cup, the pitcher
The wine and unleavened bread,
Candles and song and silence..
Nails and wood,
Shouts and jeers
Tears and doubts and betrayal.
Little hope.
Devastation, suffering.
Waiting.
Knowing the end of the story isn't the ending, and yet really not believing what is known.
Oh Holy One.
Help me find the Holy in this holy week.
Amen

This is a peculiar Holy Week for me...and out of the ordinary one, because I am already in Easter. This prayer/poem centers me back into this week...thank you. Amen, amen.

Amen and amen. In this week of awful grief, I ask prayers for Haylee, Dustin Maddy, Dani and AJ.... among so many others in our little town. As I sat with them today in their confusion and pain over the suicide of 2 classmates and friends, I told them I have friends around the world who will pray for them... Their sudden shy and delighted smile were the first light I had seen in most of their eyes since Saturday. The first funeral was this afternoon, the second Thursday night. Please pray for peace and healing for battered spirits.
