The Lord's Prayer

Are you finding yourself in need of some moments of peace and quiet? Feeling heavy-hearted, I found this to be what my heart needed.

Lord, we ask you, as we listen to the music of this familiar prayer, to bring peace to stessful minds and hearts, solace and comfort to those who are grieving, hope to those who are longing for encouragment. Holy is your name.

There has been a devastating earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand this afternoon. 65 known dead and this figure is expected to rise. Both Anglican and Catholic cathedrals badly damaged, many other churches and public buildings also. This all after a very severe earthquake in September last year. Please pray for that community, for those ministering in it and for those waiting to hear news of family, friends and colleagues.

We prayed today at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women at our morning worship for all the people in Christchurch, especially those among us attending the UNCSW from New Zealand....we will continue to hold you in our prayers.
