Today Is God

In the beginning was God,
Today is God,
Tomorrow will be God.
Who can make an image of God?
He has no body.
He is the word which comes out of your mouth.
That word! It is no more,
It is past, and still it lives!
So is God.

Waiting on the Dean's office to call back... I need some "grace time" this semester. I hate having to even ask for it. But I'm exhausted, and it's not fair to my family to block them out in the few free hours I have to do a paper.

Mom-in-law is worse. Not able to control BOTH arms now. Not able to sit up in bed, or to pull herself to an upright position. Not able to straighten herself in the bed, so you walk in and find her helpless as a turtle on its back, "stuck" against the rails.

One prof. actually told me she couldn't give me any extra time unless the Dean Ok'd it. I am angry. She is big on students "not planning or budgeting their time." As if I have a choice in the matter!!!

"Dear God:
Please schedule the demise of all family members to coincide with semester break.
Thank you."

Rant over.
Sorry. I know it's grief talking, but I am tired and worn and feeling rather bitchy at the moment...

Oh, Deb, I hope you get a hearing from the Dean....And that the holiday is as blessed and healing and consoling as it can be in the midst of such suffering for you all.
