Tuesday Prayer

Our Father
Who art in heaven
Hallowed by thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
And give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our sins
As we forgive those who sin against us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory
Forever and ever.
Amen

Thanks for your prayers for my meeting with the rector today....He is supportive, though acknowledging that things are always chancy at the diocesan level with folks ordained elsewhere--and of course Independent Catholic is an additional wildcard.

Upshot is I will do more lay ministry there for the rest of the year, including a leadership role in a developing spiritual journey group and training as acolyte and chalice bearer. If I don't move for a teaching job, he will contact the diocese this summer to see if I'd be ruled out prima facie, and if not convene a discernment group in the parish next fall. Regardless, it feels very good to have a worshipping community and his respect and support.

I got one rejection for teaching and am waiting to hear about on-campus interviews with the other two, and of course jobs may keep popping up as the year goes on. I'm feeling pretty peaceful about the whole thing at the moment, praise God.
