Prayer for Hard Times

This is another day, O Lord. I know not what it will bring forth, but make me ready, Lord, for whatever it may be. If I am to stand up, help me to stand bravely. If I am to sit still, help me to sit quietly. If I am to lie low, help me to do it patiently. And if I am to do nothing, let me do it gallantly. Make these words more than words, and give me the spirit of Jesus. Amen.

I needed this today, Jan. Thanks.

Keep me in your prayers...I am feeling aggravated at work again. "So what else is new?"

I had a four hour silent retreat today. It was hard to quiet my heart to the point that I could sense the Spirit's direction and peace. But... slowly the peace descends.

I have affirmation from God that I am not off target. And that I can not force anyone to see that God has called me to this. I know. DUH. Yet in the "slow lane of pastor's learning" I seem to need lots of time to get this.

I'm taking a short break from blogging. I'm writing a lot personally and privately. And I'm praying for my words and my mind to be clearly focused on God's plans, God's ways, God's voice. I'm sure I won't hold out until Thanksgiving, but I need some time to clear my head.

I'm reading here every day... trusting and hoping in God...
