Saturday Prayer

We are off to collect the Lovely Daughter from her camp counseling job in western North Carolina, and I wanted to find a prayer that reflected back the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Another time, another place, but the same shining:

Late have I loved you, O Beauty ever ancient, ever new, late have I loved you! You were within me, but I was outside, and it was there that I searched for you. In my unloveliness I plunged into the lovely things which you created. You were with me, but I was not with you. Created things kept me from you; yet if they had not been in you they would have not been at all. You called, you shouted, and you broke through my deafness. You flashed, you shone, and you dispelled my blindness. You breathed your fragrance on me; I drew in breath and now I pant for you. I have tasted you, now I hunger and thirst for more. You touched me, and I burned for your peace.

hey y'all -- I thought I did this earlier, but blogger must have eaten my comment --

Please be in prayer for an ex-RevGal, Tammy Jo Reiser who blogged at 32 Flavors -- she's not been active particularly in the Blogosphere as she could be because of serious heart disease. Well last week, Tammy got a new heart and is now working on recovery.

Her blog is at 32 Flavors and her heart blog is at Heart Work

Thanks for praying for my friend whose mom had a stroke. Yesterday, she made the decision to take her off life support so now it will be a matter of time. Prayers are so appreciated.

Also, thanks for those of you who were so kind a while back when I was pet grieving. We have the world's mellowest 3-year-old golden-doodle sleeping in our computer room right now. So prayers of gratitude for Rainy joining our family.

Just so aware tonight of the big circle of things, and of all the coming and going.
