The Summons

Will you come and follow me
If I but call your name?
Will you go where you don't know
And never be the same?
Will you let my love be shown,
Will you let my name be known,
Will you let my life be grown
In you and you in me?

Will you leave yourself behind
If I but call your name?
Will you care for cruel and kind
And never be the same?
Will you risk the hostile stare
Should your life attract or scare?
Will you let me answer pray'r
In you and you in me?

Will you let the blinded see
If I but call your name?
Will you set the pris'ners free
And never be the same?
Will you kiss the leper clean,
And do such as this unseen,
And admit to what I mean
In you and you in me?

Will you love the 'you' you hide
If I but call your name?
Will you quell the fear inside
And never be the same?
Will you use the faith you've found
To reshape the world around,
Through my sight and touch and sound
In you and you in me?

Lord, your summons echoes true
When you but call my name.
Let me turn and follow you
And never be the same.
In your company I'll go
Where your love and footsteps show.
Thus I'll live and move and grow
In you and you in me.

Ah, lovely, thank you. And thank you for becoming one of our hosts, Mother Laura!
Today I pray that all our churches will delve deep into the meaning of this Holy Week.

Me, too--it's a happy ordination memory.

I'm praying for strength to

1) overcome inertia and perform well in the classroom today after a wonderful and too-short break and

2) knock off the remaining teaching prep for the term so I can switch focus to my next well-focused-but-unbegun conference paper, to be delivered Mother's Day weekend, and a couple upcoming sermons (woohoo!).

Thanksgiving (more on my blog)

But thank you all for your prayers for me - both as a result of this blog - and those of you who've been in contact by email / chat (you know who you are)

though the situation in my church is just the same, I've been able to breathe again and it's as if a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders - I can see the light - it's off in the distance but I am aware of it - and as I said I can breathe.

That's worth one huge HALLELUJAH (at least!)

and I wanted to share that with you - and praise and thank God for His faithfulness

PS other items of thanksgiving include my fiend and pastor is going to pick up her newly adopted son from South Africa tomorrow ...

and two of my dearest young friends have started dating each other (and I've so suspected they might be a good couple for ages - but wisely kept my mouth shut!!!)

Skipping around. This is good news!

Oh and the puppies are doing really well too - and their mum :) Thanks
